Kate Nash: 'I Was Sick Of My Own Songs'

April 15, 2010
Kate Nash: 'I Was Sick Of My Own Songs'Kate Nash has revealed that her new album was born out of her desire to have a “normal life” again.

The singer demonstrates a new direction on ‘My Best Friend Is You’, which is due out on April 19.

Nash told XFM that she became “sick” of touring her debut album ‘Made Of Bricks’, and reached the stage where she began to question her career choice.

"Loads of stuff happened and it was quite extreme," she said.

"I was really exhausted and frankly quite tired of it. I was sick of doing gigs. I was like, I don't like playing these songs, I don't want to do anything.

“I want to go home and unpack my suitcase and get back to normal life. I wanted to pass my driving test and get back to normal life."

Meanwhile, Nash will play an in-store gig at HMV on Oxford Street in London on April 19.

Fans are advised to arrive at the store before the performance begins at 5pm.
