Tom Waits To Use Unique Ticketing For Upcoming TourSeptember 3, 2008
Tom Waits has become the first recording artist to sign up for Ticketmaster’s paperless ticketing for his upcoming tour.
Using this system is thought to be a new way to eliminate the reselling of tickets from scalpers for above face value. For the tour, fans are able to purchase tickets via Ticketmaster’s website or charge by phone by credit card. When arriving at the venue on show date, fans are required to bring identification and the credit card they purchased the tickets with to gain entry. Waits utilized a will-call procedure at his 2006 tour, which resulted in long lines due to delays in picking up tickets. (by Victoria Tsigonis) See also: |
