Johnny Marr Records Charity Single For Homeless Charity

Johnny Marr has record a new single for the homeless charity Centrepoint.

The former Smiths guitarist's cover of Rabat Mackay's 60s hit 'Tendency To Be Free' will be released on October 4.

It is also set to be included on Centrepoint's new compilation album '1969: Key To Change', which is released on the same day.

The album features contemporary musicians performing classic songs from 1969, including a Hard-Fi cover of The Stooges '1969'.

The single and album will be available from Fairsharemusic, which is the UK’s first ethical download site.

All of the profits will help Centrepoint to help fight youth homelessness.
