ZZ Top Recording New Album With Rick Rubin

ZZ Top are recording their first new studio album in seven years, singer Billy Gibbons has confirmed.

The veteran blues rock band have teamed up with producer Rick Rubin on the project, who has previously worked with Metallica and Linkin Park.

Gibbons told Spinner Rubin had been “very instrumental” during recording sessions.

“He’s able to find ways to pull things out that you might not know were there in the first place,” he added.

ZZ Top have yet to announce a title or release date for follow-up to 2003's 'Mescalero'.
