Wolfmother Future In Doubt Amid 'Break Up' ReportsAugust 6, 2008
Wolfmother's performance at a music festival in Australia last weekend may have been their final appearance in their original line up, according to reports.
Fan reports claim that the band, which consists of frontman Andrew Stockdale and co-founders, keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Hesket, looked distant and barely spoke to each other during their set at Splendour In The Grass. Responding to their performance, the group's manager, John Watson, told the Australian media that the group were working through “some issues” and that a statement is expected within days. Speculation has been rife about Wolfmother's future following the long delay between their self-titled debut album, released in 2005, and its still awaited follow-up. Although the group have performed new tracks live, they've yet to confirm the release of their second album. It's understood that the band also refused to give interviews at the recent Byron Bay festival and one suggestion is that the band name may continue with just Stockdale and session musicians.
