Gary Barlow: Robbie Williams Made Me Feel Like A 'Total Loser'November 9, 2010
Gary Barlow has opened up for the first time about the criticised he received from Robbie Williams after the singer quit Take That.
In a new documentary about the group's recent reunion with Williams, Barlow said he suffered when the singer poked fun at his failed solo career. "It was like a constant daily mock. It followed me everywhere. You just feel like a total loser,” he said. "In fact, I remember asking the bank whether I could change my name on my card. I couldn't face my own name because even over the phone people would hear it and make some wisecrack.” In the documentary, Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare, Williams also admits that he was relentless with his treatment of Barlow. “I wanted to crush him, I wanted to crush the memory of the band - and I didn't let go,” he said, adding: "You know, even when he was down, I didn't let go. And for that I sincerely apologise.” Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare is due to premiere on Saturday (November 13) at 9.30pm on ITV1.
