Take That Sold 1.34 Million Tickets In 24 HoursNovember 1, 2010
Take That sold all 1.34 million tickets for their UK and Ireland Progress reunion tour in less than 24 hours last Friday (October 29), it's been announced.
The band initially announced 14 stadium shows next summer, before extending the jaunt to 25. One of the official retailers Ticketmaster had 20 million page impressions on Friday, while BT said the nation telephone network received between three and four times the normal number of calls. Take That's official website Takethat.com had 650,000 views on Friday. In a statement, Take That said they were “speechless, truly and utterly shocked” by the demand for tickets. The Progress tour includes seven dates at City Of Manchester stadium and London's Wembley stadium. It will mark the first time in fifteen years that the group have performed with Robbie Williams.
