Take That: 'All-Night Bender Brought Us Back For Good'February 5, 2009
Take That have revealed that they decided to reform after spending an alcohol fuelled night together.
Until now, fans had highlighted the successful 2005 documentary, Take That: One The Record, as being the catalyst for the boy band's reformation in 2006. However, in an interview with The Sun newspaper, singer Mark Owen said the first time they discussed a proper reunion was during a night out. “One night me, Gary and Howard went out for a drink — and we had a couple of drinks — and we thought, ‘We can do it!’” he said. “We were in the bar singing, ‘All I do each night is Pray...' Basically we were a bit slopped up and we phoned Jay, I think he was at a wedding, and we said, ‘Jay, Jay, we’ve got this brilliant idea, come back.’ “So he came back from the wedding at two in the morning, we went round to Gary’s house and we stayed up ’til six, envisioning it, getting all really excited." Gary Barlow added of the reunion: “I attribute it to booze” As previously reported, over one million tickets for the UK leg of Take That's forthcoming Circus tour sold out just hours after they went on sale in November.
