Jimmy Page: 'Led Zeppelin Will Never Release A Rock Band or Guitar Hero'

July 22, 2009
Jimmy Page: 'Led Zeppelin Will Never Release A Rock Band or Guitar Hero'Jimmy Page says Led Zeppelin will never bring out their own version of Rock Band or Guitar Hero.

Acts including Metallica, The Beatles and Aerosmith have already donated their songs to the respective computer games giving fans the chance to mimic their music.

However, Page reckons that some of Led Zep's music would be too complicated to replicate.

"Obviously, there have been overtures made to Led Zeppelin, but if you start with the first track on the first album, Good Times Bad Times, and you think of the drum part that John Bonham did there, how many drummers in the world can actually play that, let alone dabble on a Christmas morning?

“There could be a lot of alcohol consumed over Christmas, and you still aren't going to get it," he told Starpulse.

Instead, the 65-year-old legend believes kids should pick up a real instrument.

Page continued: "You'll see if you've got a passion to want to play the instrument, and that is a good initiation.

“From my experience, once I got a guitar that was relatively user-friendly, but not super-duper easy, I really came on as a guitarist, at that point.

“It helped. It wasn't a super-expensive guitar either, but something needs to steer you a bit, if you're playing an instrument that is really hard."
