Slipknot Future 'In Doubt' Following Paul Gray's DeathJune 29, 2010
Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has cast doubt over the band's future following bassist Paul Gray's death.
Gray was found dead in a hotel room in Des Moines last month. Toxicology tests showed he died of an accidental overdose. Root, who also performs with Stone Sour, said Slipknot had yet to discuss their future and admitted they were still trying to come to terms with their loss. “There’s going to be a big healing process that needs to happen before we even think about whether or not Slipknot will continue,” he said in an interview with the Sonisphere festival. “And right now that’s the furthest thing from our mind. Right now we are just grieving or trying to find time to grieve anyway for the fact that our bro’s gone. He added: “It’s weird because some days I don’t even think it’s real, so that one’s not going to make sense for a while.” Stone Sour are amongst the band's set to play the Sonisphere festival in Knebworth next month.
