Oasis' Noel Gallagher Dismisses Enemy Rivalry ReportsJune 5, 2009
Noel Gallagher has dismissed reports of a rivalry between Oasis and The Enemy.
Both bands were caught in controversy last month after The Enemy's Tom Clarke allegedly said Oasis were “past it”. The singer later denied he had made the comment, describing the reports as “complete and utter bullocks.” Writing on his blog, Gallagher said: “There's been an attempt by the NME to try and start some juvenile, pathetic feud between the bands in the run up to these gigs. “Can I assure everyone that there is not and never will be anything between the working classes and its heroes." The Enemy are currently supporting Oasis on their UK tour, although they were forced to pull out of last night's gig in Manchester after Clarke developed chronic food poisoning. The band are due to resume the tour in Manchester tomorrow (June 6). As previously reported, Oasis fans who attended last night's gig at Heaton Park have been offered a refund because of persistent sound problems.
