Weezer Challenge Fans To Raise $20Million For 'Deluxe Breakup'October 7, 2010
Weezer have responded to a petition calling for them to split up.
The campaign, organised by Seattle resident James Burns, is offering $10million for the band to call it a day. Burns said he was not a Weezer fan, but was “tired” of his friends being “disappointed” by their recent releases. But rather than condemning the campaign, Weezer have encouraged people to raise more money. “If they can make it $20million, we'll do the "deluxe breakup"!” drummer Patrick Wilson said. At present, Burns' campaign has raised just 1% of its target. As previously reported, Weezer are set to re-issue 'Pinkerton' on November 1.
