Faces Have No Plans For 2009 Reunion TourJanuary 23, 2009
Faces have no plans to embark on a reunion tour in 2009, a spokesperson for singer Rod Stewart has said.
On Tuesday, guitarist Ronnie Wood was quoted as saying that he and Stewart had record an album's worth of material in Los Angeles over Christmas. He was also said to have told the Daily Mirror newspaper that the band would be joined on tour by Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, as a replacement for the late Ronnie Lane. However, Stewart's spokesperson told Billboard “there are no plans for a Faces reunion tour this year”, while Flea's publicist said he “knows nothing” about the claims. Speculation over the future of the band, who last toured in 1975, has been rife since Stewart apparently confirmed their reunion last November. Wood then later claimed the band, including keyboardist Ian McLagan and drummer Kenney Jones, had enjoyed “a few fantastic rehearsals”. The Faces last appeared together onstage during Stewart's solo performance at Wembley Stadium in 1986. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Rod Stewart To Play Hard Rock Calling Festival 2011 (07.03.2011)
