Hundreds Attend Ou Est Le Swimming Pool's Charles Haddon's FuneralSeptember 6, 2010
Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool singer Charles Haddon in Northamptonshire on Saturday (September 4).
The 22-year-old is understood to have taken his own life following the band's set at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium last month. Police believe Haddon jumped from a telecommunications mast located in a parking area at the festival. Around 300 people attended the service at All Saints Church in Yelvertoft. Many listened to the service on loudspeakers outside, reports the Press Association. Last month, the band's management company said Ou Est Le Swimming Pool's debut 'The Golden Year' would still be released as planned on October 3. “After speaking with the late Charlie Haddon's family, remaining band members Joe Hutchinson and Caan Capan have decided to proceed with the original schedule for the release of the record they planned with Charlie,” they said. The album will be followed by the single 'The Key' on October 10. Meanwhile, Hutchinson and Capan also thanked fans for their “incredible support and best wishes” following Haddon's death.
