Jane's Addiction Set To Unveil Free Trent Reznor-Produced Songs OnlineMarch 20, 2009
Jane's Addiction are to make two new songs, produced by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, available to download for free from today (March 20th).
'Chip Away' and 'Whores', which originally featured on their self-titled 1987 live album, were re-recorded during a recent studio visit with Reznor and producer Alan Moudler. “Just to get some creative juice flowing - we went into the studio for about two weeks,” Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell told Billboard. "We had the idea to re-record two tunes, just because they'd never been done officially in the studio.” Farrell also revealed the band had written some new songs while in the studio that were “close to finished, but not quite done”. But he said the group were in “no rush to put anything out at this point” and that fans shouldn't expect a whole album. "I don't think so. For me, the idea is to introduce one or two songs into this touring cycle along with the ones everybody loves and knows,” he said. Jane's Addition are due to head out on tour with Nine Inch Nails this summer. Fans can download the re-recorded songs here.
