The Strokes, Friendly Fires, The Vaccines For Radio 1 Big Weekend 2011The Strokes, Friendly Fires and The Vaccines are among the acts that have been added to the line-up for this year's Radio 1 Big Weekend.

Nero, Noah and the Whale, Wretch 32, Magnetic Man and Two Door Cinema Club will also appear at the event.

The two-day free music event will take place at Carlisle Airport on 14-15 May with Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters, Tinie Tempah and My Chemical Romance.

Performing on the Saturday (14) will be Black Eyed Peas, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Plan B and Chase & Status.

Lady Gaga, My Chemical Romance, Olly Murs, Bruno Mars, The Wombats, Professor Green, Katy B, The Script and Taio Cruz will appear on the Sunday (15).

For tickets apply via the Radio 1 website, with registration opening tomorrow morning (March 31) at 8.15 am GMT.

Rihanna, Florence & The Machine, Cheryl Cole and Justin Bieber appeared at last years event.
