Florence Welch Reveals She's Working On Second Album At Oscars 2011

February 28, 2011
Florence Welch Reveals She's Working On Second Album At Oscars 2011Florence Welch of Florence And The Machine has revealed that she is working on her follow-up to her debut album, 'Lungs'.

"Right now, I'm just working on my second album," she told MTV News at the Oscars in Los Angeles.

The singer failed to elaborate any further details about the album, which is expected to arrive before the end of 2011.

Meanwhile, Welch also spoke about performing 'If I Rise' from the film 127 Hours at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards on Sunday (February 27).

She said she was delighted to perform the track – originally sung by Dido – because it comes at a “very emotional moment” in the James Franco-starring movie.

British film The King's Speech was the big winner at the Oscars, taking home Best Picture and Best Actor for Colin Firth.

Natalie Portman won Best Actress for her role in Black Swan. The award for Best Original Song went to Randy Newman's 'We Belong Together' from Toy Story 3.

Trent Reznor has said he is “truly stunned” to win an Oscar for his soundtrack to The Social Network.
