Foo Fighters End Adele's UK Album Chart ReignApril 17, 2011
![]() The US band's seventh studio album 'Wasting Light' debuted at number one, bringing to an end '21's' eleven-week domination. The album sold 114,000 copies compared to 107,000 for '21', which fell to number two - one place ahead of Adele's debut '19'. Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot said: "Adele's unbeaten run at number one may have come to an end but she has already made 2011 her own. She is a true phenomenon." Elsewhere on the album chart, the Glee cast's 'Glee The Music Volume 5' was a new entry straight in at number four, while Cee Lo Green's 'The Lady Killer' re-entered at number eight. In the singles chart, LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' featuring singer Lauren Bennet was a new entry at number one. Chris Brown's 'Beautiful People' featuring Benny Benassi climbed to number eight from last week's number 20. (by Jason Gregory) See also: |
