Johnny Borrell To Play Environmental Solo ConvertMay 20, 2008
Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell will play a one-off show at the Science Museum in London next month on behalf of Friends of the Earth.
The gig, on June 3rd, will call on the Government to include emissions from aviation in the new climate change law. Currently the Government plans to leave the UK’s share of emissions from international flights and shipping out of a new draft of the law. Borrell, whose been a long time supporter of Friends of the Earth, said that it is “unbelievable that the Bill and the Government plans to ignore emissions from aviation and shipping.” “Those industries should absolutely be included in calculations,” he added. Representatives from aviation and shipping won’t be invited to the gig in order to “highlight the unfairness of the proposed law,” a spokesperson said.
