New Radiohead Album In 'Embryonic' StageJanuary 19, 2009
Radiohead's new album is still in its “embryonic” stage, one of the band's manager has said.
Brian Message said he had “no idea” how the band would release the album. Radiohead won huge praise in 2007 when they allowed fans to pay what they wanted for their latest album 'In Rainbows'. "The first step in the process is that they've got to make some music that they're proud of," he told the Midem Music Conference in Cannes. "There are no plans until the boys come back and say: 'We've got something we like here'." Message, who also manages Faithless, said the dance group have the potential to copy Radiohead and release their next album in a “radical” way He said he wanted the group to “take a whole load of risks” now that they no longer have a record contract. He added: "Faithless have got enough financial resources to do it themselves, which is what Radiohead did. I'd hope they'd be radical about the decisions they make. "They can do it themselves, if they don't want to take the risk they could do a deal to get somebody to put some money up."
