The Ting Tings 'Sign To Jay-Z's Record Label'November 12, 2009
The Ting Tings have signed to the management arm of Jay-Z's US-based record label Roc Nation.
The duo are said to be working on new material with the rapper ahead of the release of their second album next year. "Jay is hoping to lend his production skills to some of the new material," a source told the Daily Star. "The staccato rhythmic style of The Ting Tings sits well with what he does best, so that was the attraction. "Jay can make them one of the biggest British bands in America." Roc Nation was established by Jay-Z earlier this year following his partnership with concert promoter Live Nation. Other acts associated with the label include Sugababes, J Cole and rapper Wale. The Ting Tings' 2008 debut 'We Started Nothing' topped the UK charts and scored a top-10 entry on the US countdown.
