George Harrison Widow Unveils Garden In Memory Of Former BeatleMay 19, 2008
Olivia Harrison, the widow of former Beatle George Harrison, will honour her late husband this week with a garden at the Chelsea Flower show.
Harrison, who died from lung cancer in 2001, was a regular attendee to the flower festival, which takes place annually in West London. Harrison’s widow said she could not “think of a more joyful thing to do for George and I know he would approve”. She said that she hoped the garden, which was created alongside garden designer Yvonne Innes, would be “a reflection of his spirituality.” The garden will take visitors on a tour of Harrison’s life, from his Liverpool birthplace through to the Beatles ‘Sgt Pepper’ era, reports Reuters. Former Beatle Ringo Starr will officially unveil the garden when the Chelsea Flower Show opens to the general public from tomorrow (May 20th). (by Jason Gregory) See also: |
