Paul McCartney And Kevin Spacey Duet Together On Beatles ClassicJuly 2, 2010
Sir Paul McCartney was joined on-stage by actor Kevin Spacey as he performed a special concert in London last night (July 2).
The pair sang The Beatles hit 'Hey Jude' together in front of a star-studded audience that included actress Dame Judie Dench and Stephen Fry. The gig, at Battersea Power Station, saw Sir Paul play a set mainly comprised of songs by the Liverpool band, reports the Belfast Telegraph. It was staged to help raise money for the Old Vic theatre, at which Spacey is the artistic director, and the singer's Meat Free Monday campaign. "When Kevin strong-armed me into doing it, as he does, we were only too pleased to show up and step up to the plate,” Sir Paul said. “We had a great evening, we rocked out and the crowd did too. We couldn't have asked for more." The gig came less than a week after the former Beatle headlined the final night of the Hard Rock Calling festival in London. The three-day event also featured performances from Stevie Wonder and Pearl Jam. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Paul McCartney To Release Two New Albums In June (27.04.2011)
