Lou Reed To Join Gorillaz At Glastonbury, Damon Albarn ConfirmsJune 23, 2010
Lou Reed will make a surprise appearance during Gorillaz headline slot at Glastonbury on Friday (June 25).
The singer is expected to perform 'Some Kind Of Nature' from the band's recent album 'Plastic Beach'. Frontman Damon Albarn said Reed had flown in especially for the performance and that they expected to rehearse before England's crucial World Cup game today (June 23). "Lou Reed [is] arriving and, fingers crossed, coming straight to rehearsal,” Albarn told BBC Radio 4's Front Row. “And then we watch the game. "Strict alcohol ban, which is not in our nature, but considering how much we've got to get done..." Other 'Plastic Beach' collaborators, including Snoop Dogg, Mos Def and De La Soul are also expected to join Gorillaz. "We've got about 50 or 60 people at one point on stage," Albarn added.
