Oasis Singles Collection 'Time Flies' Tops UK Album Chart

June 21, 2010
Oasis Singles Collection 'Time Flies' Tops UK Album ChartOasis’s new singles collection, ‘Times Flies 1994-2009’, has gone straight in at number one on the UK album chart.

The record is the Manchester band’s eighth number one album of their career and is also the 900th number one on the Official Album Chart.

The group split last year after eighteen years together.

‘Time Flies…’ sold almost four times as many copies as its nearest rival, ‘Glee The Music - Journey To The Regionals’.

The only other new entry in this week’s top-10 was Billy Joel’s hits collection, ‘Piano Man – The Very Best Of’.

Elsewhere, Plan B’s former number one album ‘The Defamation Of Strickland Banks’ was a re-entry at number nine, while Mumford & Sons’ ‘Sigh No More’ climbed to number ten.

On the singles chart, Dizzee Rascal and James Corden’s World Cup song ‘Shout For England’ topped the countdown for a second week.

Example’s ‘Kickstarts’ was at number three and Kylie Minogue’s ‘All The Lovers’ debuted at number four, according to the Official Charts Company.

Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ went straight in at number eight and ‘Alejandro’ by Lady Gaga climbed to number ten.
