Noel Gallagher Won't Appear In Court Over On Stage AssaultFebruary 10, 2010
Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher won't appear in court in Canada at the sentencing of a man charged with assaulting him.
Last week, it emerged that the guitarist had asked to attend the hearing to read his victim statement in person. But Gallagher will now not make the trip due to scheduling conflcits and fears his appearance could create a distraction, reports the Tornoto Star. Danny Sullivan, 48, attacked Gallagher on stage as the band performed at the V Festival in Toronto in September 2008. He pleaded guilty in November to assault causing bodily harm. The sentencing hearing has been scheduled to take place in Toronto on March 23. Gallagher, who sustained three broken ribs in the attack, has since left Oasis and is on the verge of launching a solo career.
