Oasis' Noel Gallagher Fan Attack Put Down To 'Security Breach'September 8, 2008
Organisers of the Virgin Festival in Canada have described an incident between Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and a fan as a “security breach”.
Gallagher was pushed to the floor when a fan burst on stage during the group's performance at the festival last night (September 7th). Security guards tackled the individual, who was later charged with assault. A spokesperson for the festival told the Telegraph: “Oasis understand sometimes these things happen.” Oasis were forced off stage because of the incident but returned later to continue their set, which ended with a cover of The Beatles' 'I Am The Walrus'. It's not the first time Gallagher has been attacked on stage. In 1994, the guitarist was punched by a fan at a gig in Newcastle.
