The Charlatans Axe US Tour After Drummer CollapsesSeptember 20, 2010
The Charlatans have been forced to postpone their US tour after drummer Jon Brookes collapsed on stage in Philadelphia.
Brookes momentarily stopped breathing during the band's set at Johnny Brenda's last Wednesday (September 15). He was taken to hospital, where he was given a CAT scan and was said to be responding well to treatment. In a statement, the band said the drummer was in a “comfortable condition” but was being flown back to the UK for further treatment. “The Charlatans are very upset at not being able to continue the tour but hope to reschedule the dates as soon as possible,” they added. Brookes' collapse came in the week that the band released their latest studio album, 'Who We Touch'. (by Jason Gregory) See also: The Charlatans' Jon Brookes Thanks Fans For Support (04.10.2010)
