Alexandra Burke Beats Robbie Williams To Number One

October 19, 2009
Alexandra Burke Beats Robbie Williams To Number One'Bad Boys' by X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has become the fastest selling UK single of the year so far hitting the number one spot and outselling nearest rival Robbie Williams two to one.

According to the Official Charts Company 'Bad Boys' sold 185,000 copies whilst Williams comeback single 'Bodies' sold a still commendable 90,000 reaching the number two spot. 'Bodies' is Robbie's twentieth top 5 solo single of his career.

Elsewhere, in the albums chart Editors came out top with their new album 'In This Light And On This Evening'. Despite mixed reviews and a much discussed new electronic sound the album beat nearest rival Chipmunk's 'Oopsy Daisy' into second place.

Other new entries in the top ten were Shakira at four with 'She Wolf' and The Saturdays' 'Wordshaker' at number nine.
