Black Eyed Peas' Fergie Defends Christina Aguilera Over Super Bowl Fluff

February 8, 2011
Black Eyed Peas' Fergie Defends Christina Aguilera Over Super Bowl FluffBlack Eyed Peas singer Fergie has defended Christina Aguilera after she fluffed a line to the American National Anthem at the Super Bowl last weekend.

The singer sang an earlier line by mistake during her rendition of the Star-Spangled banner at the Cowboy's Stadium in Texas.

Fergie, who along with the rest of the Black Eyed Peas performed during the the half-time show, said she could sympathise with the star.

"You know what? It's such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you," Fergie told Sports Illustrated.

"I completely understand. She's one of the best singers of our time. Nobody can take that away from you. ... But you get nervous at these things. We're human."

More than 100million people are thought to have been watching when Aguilera made the pre-game error. The singer has already issued her own apology.
