Ian Astbury Denies Led Zeppelin Tour ClaimApril 7, 2008
The Cult singer Ian Astbury has hit out at claims that he said his band would support Led Zeppelin on a world tour this year.
Asbury apparently made the claim during a concert in Cincinnati, Ohio in November 2007. Journalists at the concert claimed that Astbury said at the time: "We'll be back next year because we're opening for a band you might have heard of. The name starts with 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." Astbury has now categorically denied this, blasting the said journalists by saying: "The only reason I said it is because I had read about them playing at the (reunion) concert. It really goes to show you how naive people are. It's been embellished by journalists." He indicated that all he said was "Wouldn't it be great if the The Cult could tour with them?" Led Zeppelin have no plans for a world tour currently. (by Chris Reynolds) See also: The Cult Announce 2011 UK Tour (27.09.2010)
