Mystery Jets Spread The Love At GlastonburyJune 30, 2008
Mystery Jets played Glastonbury's most love-filled set at The Park Stage this afternoon.
The rejuvenated Eel Pie Islanders were in affectionate mood, with guitarist William Rees declaring 'I love you, i really do.' Not far from the infamous Stone Circle, free love was the order of the day as he went on to tell of his love for his band members, as they played 'Half In Love With Elizabeth.' Frontman Blaine Harrison then sung a snippet of Leona Lewis' hit single 'Bleeding Love', to the joy of a packed afternoon crowd. Laura Marling joined the band for 'Young Love', but the song didn't begin until all of the band had greeted her with kisses, and ended with more heartfelt adoration. Blaine and William, Libertines-esque, shared a microphone for closer 'Behind The Bunhouse', before crutches-bound Blaine hobbled off and the others piggie-backed their way offstage.
