Fleet Foxes To Work With Beach Boy Al JardineJuly 2, 2009
Fleet Foxes are hoping to collaborate with former Beach Boys star Al Jardine.
66-year-old legend Jardine invited the band to meet him at his Los Angeles recording studio to discuss the possibility of teaming up on his new album 'A Postcard From California'. Jardine said of Fleet Foxes: “They’re awesome. They kind of have the Beach Boys vibe, too - very beautiful harmonies." Speaking to Pitchfork, Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold was keen to pay back the compliment, saying: "He was amazing, a really sweet guy." 'A Postcard From California' will also feature contributions from Brian Wilson and popular actor John Stamos. It's reported that a long-lost Beach Boys song, 'A California Saga', recorded with Neil Young, David Crosby and Stephen Stills will also feature.
