Morrissey Cancels Bournemouth Show On Doctor's OrdersOctober 26, 2009
Morrissey has cancelled tonight's show at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth on the advice of doctors.
The singer was hospitalised on Saturday night after collapsing one song into his set at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon prompting fears for his health. After staying overnight at the Swindon Great Western Hospital, the 50-year-old Smiths legend was discharged yesterday but ordered to rest. A statement reads: “This show (O2 Academy Bournemouth) will not take place on medical advice. This follows Morrissey's hospitalisation on Saturday night in Swindon. “Morrissey has now been released from hospital and under instruction to rest. Ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets and await further news regarding a potential rescheduled date or refund.” Morrissey is due to play the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow night (October 27) as well as a string of other UK dates. It's not yet known whether they will be axed. (by Scott Colothan) See also: Morrissey Agrees With Johnny Marr Over David Cameron (21.04.2011)
