The Good, The Bad And The Queen To Headline Anti-Racism CarnivalApril 15, 2008
The Good, The Bad and The Queen have been confirmed as headliners for the Rock Against Racism carnival in London later this month.
The band – which consists of Paul Simonon, Simon Tong, Tony Allen and Damon Albarn – join a bill which already includes Hard-Fi, Roll Deep and The View. The event, which takes place in Victoria Park on April 27th, coincides with the 30th anniversary of the original Rock Against Racism carnival and Anti-Nazi League march. Speaking about the event, Simonon, whose previous band The Clash headlined the original carnival, said: "It is what it is...musicians against racism. I was against it then and I still am today". The event has been organised by the Love Music Hate Racism campaign and will also feature an anti-fascism march, which begins at 10am at Weavers Fields. Helskini, Wiley and The Paddingtons are among the other bands who will play at the carnival. (by Jason Gregory) See also: |
