Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan 'Can't Remember' On Stage CollapseJuly 23, 2010
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has said he can’t remember collapsing on stage at a gig in Florida.
The singer is reported to have appeared dizzy, before falling into a drum riser as he performed at Ritz Ybor in Tampa on Wednesday (July 21). In a post on Twitter, Corgan wrote: “For those that saw me fall last night during ‘Bullet’, that wasn't a stage move or clumsiness, that was me blacking out and wiping out. “I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise and am moving slow.” Despite his fall, Corgan described the gig as “a tremendous show”, adding: “We can't tell you enough how much we appreciate you today.” As previously reported, Smashing Pumpkins are set to play a benefit concert for Madina Lake’s Matthew Leone in Chicago next week.
