Robert Pattinson Will Not Play Kurt Cobain In Nirvana BiopicApril 13, 2010
Robert Pattinson has not been approached to play Kurt Cobain in a film about the Nirvana frontman.
A recent tabloid report claimed Cobain’s widow Courtney Love, who is an executive producer on the project, had targeted the 23-year-old Twilight star for the role. It was also claimed that she was hopeful that Scarlett Johansson could play her in the film, titled Heavier Than Heaven. However, Love’s manager Jonathan Daniel told SPIN he was not aware of such plans. "That's an amazing story, and the first I've heard of any of this,” he said. "They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check and include a 'My First Photoshop' job as a 'mock up' to boot." Cobain, who along with Nirvana popularised grunge music in the early nineties, committed suicide in 1994. The film is based on Charles Cross’ 2001 biography Heavier Than Heaven. Pattinson shot to fame as Edward Cullen in the hit vampire franchise, The Twilight Saga. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Courtney Love 'Wanted To Snort Kurt Cobain's Ashes' (16.03.2011)
