Michael Jackson Doctor Due In Court On Manslaughter ChargeJanuary 4, 2011
The doctor who was with Michael Jackson on the day he died is due in court on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Dr Conrad Murray, who was working with the singer ahead of his ill-fated comeback gigs, has pleaded not guilty to the charge. A Los Angeles judge will begin hearing testimony today (January 4) in order to decide if there is enough evidence for Dr Murray to face a full trial. Jackson died on June 25, 2009 of an overdose of prescription drugs, including propofol. Dr Murray has admitted giving Jackson the drug to help him sleep, but denied giving the singer a fatal overdose. Last week, District Attorney David Walgren said it was evident that Dr Murray’s defence was looking into the theory that Jackson killed himself.
