Kate Nash Forced To Perform Acoustically After Power Cut Hits London GigMarch 12, 2010
Kate Nash rounded off her intimate return to touring action with a tiny London gig plagued by technical difficulties.
Nash was seven songs into her set at the Bethnal Green's Working Mans Club when the power in the venue cut out. Unperturbed, Nash played a mini acoustic set featuring fan favourites 'Pumpkin Soup' and 'Foundations'. Earlier in the evening Nash said she would not be playing 'Foundations' as the show was to focus on new material, however a lack of amplifiers forced her hand. The show acted as a taster of Nash's new album 'My Best Friend Is You' with many new songs aired. These included the new single 'Do Wah Doo', 'I Got A Secret', 'Mansion Song', 'I Hate Seagulls' and the distortion heavy set closer 'I Just Love You More'. The low key gig was a pre-cursor to Nash's second album release in April and was attended by her Boyfriend, Ryan Jarman of The Cribs and 'My Best Friend Is You' producer Bernard Butler.
