Madonna Calls Aids Film 'A Labour Of Love'May 22, 2008
Madonna has described her new film, which tells the story of the effects of aids in Malawi, as a “labour of love”.
The pop star presented I Am Because We Are to an audience at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France yesterday (May 22nd). The film, which includes an interview with former President Bill Clinton, shows the poverty caused by aids and its devastating impact on children. "To say that this film is a labour of love is true, but that's kind of trivial because really what it is, is a journey of a lifetime,” Madonna said. Madonna has formed a deep connection with Malawi since she adopted a child from the African country 18-months ago. The popstar’s adoption, which is subject to court approval, is expected to be finalised later this month. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Adele's '21' Equals Madonna's Album Chart Record (28.03.2011)
