Catholic Group Call For Madonna Show To Be Axed

An orthodox Catholic group are hoping to stop a Madonna show in Poland going ahead.

The Catholic Society are protesting against Madge's show in Warsaw on August 15 which coincides with the holy event, the Assumption of Mary Feast.

The group are calling on Polish officials to axe the show, but if they are refused they will form a picket line at the venue.

Madonna's Stick & Sweet tour of course features Madonna arriving onstage on a giant cross and has already sparked controversy.

In Rome last year, she cheekily dedicated the track 'Like A Virgin' to The Pope, angering god botherers.

In Chile last December, a Roman Catholic Cardinal blasted the 50-year-old saying “She provokes a crazy enthusiasm, an enthusiasm of lust, lustful thoughts, impure thoughts.”

Russian religious groups have also asked for Madonna not to blaspheme at a scheduled August show as it's taking place near to a holy building.
