Boy George Denies 'Slating' TV Biopic About HimselfMay 19, 2010
Boy George has denied reports that he criticised TV drama Worried About The Boy, which charted his own rise to fame.
The show, which aired on Sunday, traced the singer’s career from his East London childhood to the Culture Club. It was positively received by critics, but appeared to upset Boy George, who wrote on Twitter earlier this week that it had been “badly written”. "Verdict, beautifully shot and styled but badly written, it lacks heart and soul!” he wrote. However, Boy George has since denied that the comments, picked up by the Daily Mirror, were negative. “I never slated WATB, I'm allowed to have an opinion,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site. “In general it was pretty entertaining actually!” The BBC drama starred actor Douglas Booth as Boy George, while Mathew Horne and Marc Warren also appeared.
