Lily Allen Reduced To Tears As She Dominates Ivor Novello AwardsMay 20, 2010
Lily Allen was reduced to tears as she won three prizes at the Ivor Novello awards in London today (May 20).
The singer took home the awards for Most Performed Work and Best Song Musically And Lyrically, both for ‘The Fear’. Speaking about the song on stage, a tearful Allen said: "This song is so much about feeling lost in a lot of ways. All of a sudden, this has made me feel found." The singer, who is taking a break from music, was also named Songwriter of the Year alongside her songwriting partner Greg Kurstin. Other winners included Bat For Lashes, whose hit ‘Daniel’ was named best Contemporary Song. Paolo Nutini won the Best Album Award for his second effort ‘Sunny Side Up’. The Ivors Insipiration Award went to former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, while Noel Gallagher presented Paul Weller with the Lifetime Achievement accolade.
