Lil' Wayne And Wiley 'Death Website' Taken OfflineNovember 6, 2008
The website at the centre of fakes news stories about rappers Lil' Wayne and Wiley has been taken offline.
Kineticnorth allowed its users to publish hoax news articles disguised as official BBC News stories. Last weekend, two stories emerged on the website claiming that both rappers had been killed. One stated that Lil' Wayne had been shot six times following a concert in New Orleans, while another said Wiley had been stabbed. Both stars have since confirmed that they are still alive. Last summer Lil' Wayne was subject to another set of internet reports which claimed his daughter had died in a car accident. In a statement, the rapper denied the claims, describing them as “completely false and unfounded”. Last month, the rapper revealed that he plans to re-release his latest album 'Tha Carter III' with an entirely new tracklist.
