Katy Perry Plans To Continue Using Shock Tactics In 2009December 24, 2008
Katy Perry has vowed to keep her fans “on their toes” in the New Year.
The singer, who courted controversy in 2008 with her chart-topping debut single ‘I Kissed A Girl’, said she intended to try “all kinds of different things”. "Maybe you won't expect it, but that's what I like to do - keep people on their toes,” she added. Perry also told the Daily Star newspaper that she intended to continue challenging the traditional view of pop music artists in 2009. "What's the point of being in pop if you're going to be a wind-up doll?" she asked. Earlier this year, Perry was criticised by anti-knife campaigners over a picture of her holding a knife. The image, taken by fashion photographer Terry Richardson, was intended for Perry's album 'One of the Boys', but eventually overlooked. Perry later denied that the picture was related to the UK's current violent crime problems. As previously reported, Perry wore a Santa outfit for a performance in Los Angeles recently.
