Kasabian: 'Americans Are Deluded When It Comes To Music'July 24, 2009
Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has claimed some Americans are deluded when it comes to music.
The singer said music fans in the US, a country where Kasabian have yet to make a big impact, tend to think they're more ahead than they actually are. Meighan told XFM: “We're like a cult band over there. You have to be U2 or Coldplay to get radio play. “Americans are deluded - not all of them - they think they're ahead, but musically they're not. They're 30 years behind." As previously reported, Kasabian's third album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' was nominated for the Mercury Prize this week. The album topped the charts upon its release in the the UK last month, but only made number 126 on the US Billboard chart.
