Robbie Williams Changes Take That Song Lyrics On Live TV

February 21, 2011
Robbie Williams Changes Take That Song Lyrics On Live TVTake That's Robbie Williams surprised fans when he changed the lyrics to one of the band's songs on live TV.

The singer, who recently rejoined the group, sang a new introduction to 'The Flood' during an appearance at the Sanremo Festival.

Williams should have opened the song with the line: “Standing on the edge of forever, at the start of whatever, shouting love at the world.”

But instead he sang: “Standing on the feet of our Trevor, but our Trevor was clever, shouting love at the world.”

It is not clear whether the different lyric was expected by his bandmates, who performed the rest of the song without any further changes.

Williams also raised eyebrows at the BRIT Awards last week when he repeated the word “Shabba” during the band's acceptance speech for Best British Group.

Take That are due to kick off a UK stadium tour in May.
