Paul Weller, The xx Ready For Mercury Prize 2010 BattlePaul Weller is the clear favourite to win this year's Mercury Prize, according to bookmakers.

A flurry of bets have been placed on the former Jam singer to take home the award at a ceremony in London tonight (September 7).

Weller's latest album 'Wake Up The Nation', which is one of twelve albums nominated for the award, is 1/10 favourite to win.

Other nominees include The xx, for their self-titled debut, Wild Beasts, previous winner Dizzee Rascal and Biffy Clyro.

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of members of the music industry.

Previous winners have included have included Elbow, Primal Scream, Klaxons and Arctic Monkeys.
