Amy Winehouse Troubles Inspire New Boy George Song

October 19, 2009
Amy Winehouse Troubles Inspire New Boy George SongBoy George has revealed he has written a song about Amy Winehouse.

The track, entitled 'Your Pain Makes A Beautiful Sound', was written during the singer's recent incarceration in Edmunds Hill prison.

It includes the lyrics: “It was easy to make them love you, All you had to do was sing. Now it’s not enough to listen, They want to know everything.”

“When I was away, I wrote a lot of stuff, which will be released next year,” the former Culture Club star told The Times.

“I wrote a diary and songs. I got into trouble because I wrote on the wall: ‘Some things are past understanding, you just need a place to land.’ It was part of a lyric.

“I actually wrote a song about Amy when I was in prison.”

The two musicians have only met once before backstage at a gig in Koko, London.

Boy George was jailed in January for falsely imprisoning a male escort in his home in East London.

The singer was freed in May after serving less than a third of his 15-month sentence.
