Los Campesinos! Member Quits To Resume Studies

June 2, 2009
Los Campesinos! Member Quits To Resume StudiesAleksandra Campesinos! has left Los Campesinos! in order to resume her studies, it has been announced.

In a statement, the band said “it was with a heavy heart” that they had to announce her departure, but insisted the remaining members were closer than ever.

“In many ways, it would be great if there had been some falling out in the band and that Aleks couldn't bear to tour with us any more, but that couldn't be further from the truth," the band said.

“We're all better, closer friends now than we've ever been.”

Despite her departure, Aleks will feature on the band's next studio album, which is currently being recorded in the US.

Los Campesinos! have also announced details of a huge US tour, which will get under way in August. (@Music)
